Purpose

This action list focuses on countryside management -the generic term used to describe the management of land in largely rural areas where the traditional land uses, agriculture and forestry, sit alongside other land uses. These include nature conservation, heritage management, historic and archaeological management and recreation.

Benefits

Explore the major changes in countryside management over the past 40 years. Given the multi-functional nature of countryside management, planning is critical although this is often informal in nature.
