PurposeThe delivery of housing in a sustainable way and the need to meet affordability targets necessitate coordination and integration of policies and strategies. The trajectory of integration in recent years has been towards joint strategies at a national and regional level and coordinated processes at the local level. This presents new challenges to planners and planning. |
BenefitsIf planning is about delivery rather than regulation and if spatial planning is to mean something then integration of a range of policy sectors such as transport, economic development and education with planning and housing will be required. |
