PurposeThis action list focuses on the fact that the population in Britain is ageing as people are living longer and that it is increasingly clear that the planning system has overlooked many needs by assuming that ‘one policy fits all’, and that this must end. |
BenefitsAcknowledging that the elderly may have different and distinctive needs is undoubtedly part of the agenda of sensitivity to social diversity which in England the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister is promoting. It needs to be part of the agenda for planners too and this action list will help planners achieve this goal. |
