PurposeVillage Planning relates to the planning of relatively small settlements (say up to 12,000 population), normally surrounded by countryside. As an illustration, the Rural White Paper (DETR & MAFF, 2000) noted that there are “over 1,000 towns in England with populations between 2,000 and 20,000”. So there is a cross-over between village and town planning which this knowledge builder explores. |
BenefitsThe significance of village planning to planners is substantial – it provides planners and associated professionals and activists with the chance to cooperate, in order to bring about material improvements to individuals, rural communities and their environments. |
