Purpose

The knowledge builder deals with the main elements of the planning system in terms of the 1997 Act and the 2006 Act; generally regulatory and minor procedural matters have been omitted where they do not represent fundamental changes introduced by the new legislation.

A knowledge builder which provides background information on the modernised planning system introduced by The Planning (Scotland) Act 2006. Additionally a range of further reading and appropriate websites is provided for those who wish to become expert in the subject. Includes voluntary self assessment for recording continuous professional development (CPD).
