Purpose

This knowledge builder provides an introduction to the consultation draft regulations on development planning (published in October 2007) which will implement parts of the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006. The 2006 Act provides a new statutory basis for development planning in Scotland and introduces strategic and local development plans (SDPs and LDPs) to replace current structure and local plans.
