This activity will help individuals and teams to:

  • conduct a health check on their current performance

  • discuss their workplace values and how these affect the team

  • support the development of their team

  • identify clear roles, tasks and performance enhancement.

Benefits

Can be used in team meetings/team events to discuss, assess and develop team effectiveness. It involves people in identifying the strengths and weaknesses in their team, describing the values of the team and identifying the roles people play in the team.

Audience

For managers to help them review and improve team effectiveness.

Learning method

Team Health Check questionnaire, individual team values exercise, 'who plays these roles', exercise based on Belbin's team roles and 'lessons from geese' question sheet - this draws some interesting parallels between the way we perform and a flock of geese performs.
